18 more die in RMCH’s Covid unit in 24 hours; positivity rate in Rajshahi 34.09%

Eighteen more people died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital's (RMCH) Covid unit in 24 hours till this morning.

Of the deceased, five were Covid-19 positive, 12 died with symptoms and another was Covid-19 negative, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports quoting RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani.

Eight of the deceased were from Rajshahi, four from Naogaon, three from Natore and one each from Chapainawabganj, Pabna and Kushtia.

A total of 654 samples were tested in RMCH in 24 hours (till 8am today) and 218 of them tested Covid-19 positive.

The rate of positivity was 34.09 percent in Rajshahi.

During the period, 69 new patients were admitted at the RMCH's isolation ward and 48 left hospital after recovery. 

With them, total 495 patients are now undergoing treatment at the Covid unit of the hospital.
