18 die in Covid units of 3 Bogura hospitals

Eighteen patients died while undergoing treatment at Covid units of three hospitals in Bogura during the 24 hours till 8am today.

Of them, 11 died at the 250-bed Mohammad Ali Hospital, confirmed Dr ATM Nuruzzaman Sanchay, superintendent of the hospital.

In Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, five died at the Covid unit, said Abdul Wadud, the hospital's deputy director.

The other two died at TMSS Medical College Hospital, a spokesman said.

Of the 18 deceased, eight were coronavirus positive and the rest died with symptoms, said Deputy Civil Surgeon of Bogura, Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin.

In the 24 hours till this morning, 810 samples were tested in different facilities in Bogura of which 236 were positive, added the deputy civil surgeon.
