12 die in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital’s Covid unit in 24 hours

Twelve people died while being treated at the Covid unit of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till 8am today.

Of them, six were positive for coronavirus infection while the others had symptoms, reports our local correspondent quoting Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, focal person of the hospital's Covid unit.

A total of 417 people were being treated at the unit till 8 this morning, of them 21 were in the Intensive Care Unit, the doctor said.

In the 24 hours till 8am, 429 samples were tested for Covid-19 in Mymensingh, said Civil Surgeon Dr Nazrul Islam. Among them, 154 tested positive for the virus. Current positivity rate stands at 35.89 percent.
