17 lakh Sinopharm vaccines reach Dhaka

A consignment of 17 lakh Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine doses, under the COVAX facility, reached Dhaka this evening from China.

An aircraft of Emirates Airlines carrying the vaccines reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 7:30pm, said Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, executive director of the airport.

The flight along with the vaccines left Beijing around 5:25am today.

Nearly 54.61 lakh Sinopharm doses, including today's consignment, are coming in Bangladesh from China in five days.
