Record 854 new Covid-19 cases recorded in a day in Barishal division

Barishal division recorded 854 fresh Covid-19 cases in 24 hours (till 8 am today), which is the highest single-day number yet.

Meanwhile, 13 people died in the division during the same period. Of them, five died of Covid-19 and eight with Covid-like symptoms.

During this period, 2,065 people got tested, and 854 were found positive for the virus. The current positivity rate stands at 41.36 percent, our correspondent reports, quoting Shyamal Krishna Mandal, assistant director of Barishal Divisional Health Office.

Shyamal Krishna said 442 patients have died of Covid-19 in the division so far. There are 31,474 active patients in the division, and 18,465 of them have recovered.
