Record 14 Covid-19 deaths in a day in Sylhet division

Sylhet division has recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths in a day after 14 persons died in the division in 24 hours till this morning. Earlier on July 18, the previous highest of 12 deaths was recorded.

According to the daily report of the office of Divisional Director (Health) in Sylhet, 564 people tested positive for the virus in four districts of the division while 379 Covid-19 positive patients are currently undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the division.

The report signed by Divisional Director Dr Himangshu Lal Roy also said that the infection rate in the division stands at 42 percent as 564 tested positive out of a total of 1,343 samples tested in the labs yesterday.

Of them, 249 were recorded in Sylhet district, 107 in Sunamganj, 146 in Habiganj, and 62 in Moulvibazar, according to the Divisional Health office.

So far 36,210 people have tested Covid-19 positive in the division, and of them, 28,843 people have recovered.

So far 631 people have died of Covid-19 in the division.
