Man dies while in queue for Covid test in Brahmanbaria

A man died while waiting in line to provide sample for Covid-19 test at Brahmanbaria General Hospital today.

The deceased was identified as Iqbal Hossain (43), son of Shahidul Islam of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila. He was the imam of a mosque in Kharampur village, of Akhaura upazila, reports our correspondent quoting the hospital's emergency department duty doctor, Solaiman Mia.

While waiting in line -- in front of the Bangladesh Medical Association building on the hospital grounds -- to give sample for a Covid-19 test, Iqbal collapsed around 8:45am. Soon after, he was rushed to the hospital's emergency department, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Quoting Iqbal's relatives, Solaiman Mia said, Iqbal had been unwell for a few days with fever and cold.
