Covid-19 deaths in decline: 65 dead in 24 hours

Sixty-five people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 26,628, and the death rate stands at 1.76 percent.

A total of 27,595 samples were tested across the country and at least 2,710 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,517,166, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 9.82 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 16.69 percent.

At least 4,124 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,455,187 and the recovery rate is 95.91 percent. 

Among the 65 deceased, 32 were men and 33 were women.

Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, three were between 21-30, three between 31-40, seven between 41-50, 24 between 51-60, 12 between 61-70, 10 were between 71-80 and five between 81-90 years old, added the release.
