25 Covid-19 deaths, 1,212 new cases recorded in 24 hours

Twenty-five people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With them, the total number of deaths reached 27,439 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 1,212 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,52,563, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 4.36 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.09 percent.

A total of 27,787 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 1,202 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,12,681 and the recovery rate at 97.43 percent.

Among the 25 deceased, 13 were men and 12 women. Of them one was between 21-30 years old, one was within 31-40; three were between 41-50; six within 51-60, six were within 61-70, and four between 71-80, four were within 81-90 years old, added the release.
