23 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, positivity rate now below 4%
Twenty-three people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With them, the total number of deaths reached 27,510, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
At least 860 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,55,911, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 3.24 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.99 percent.
A total of 26,569 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).
At least 979 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,15,941, and the recovery rate at 97.43 percent.
Among the 23 deceased, 11 were men and 12 women. Of them one within 21-30 years old, two between 31-40; five were between 41-50; three within 51-60, eight within 61-70, and four between 71-80 years old, added the release.
