20 die in Kushtia hospital’s Covid unit in 24 hours, infection rate 28.29%

Twenty people died in the Covid unit of Kushtia General Hospital till 8am this morning.

Of them, 14 were coronavirus positive while the rest had symptoms, reports our local correspondent quoting Ashraful Islam, resident medical officer of the hospital.

A total of 721 samples were tested in the meantime of which 205 were positive. Current positivity rate in the district stands at 28.29 percent.

Meanwhile, 256 patients were being treated at the unit till 8 this morning, the doctor said.

A total of 12,171 people have been infected with the virus in Kushtia till today. Of them, 409 have died so far.
