18 die of Covid-19, symptoms in Barishal division in a day

Six people died of Covid-19 and 12 with Covid-like symptoms in Barishal division in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

Of them, 10 died at Sher-E-Bangla Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH), one in Patuakhali and seven in Barguna.

During this period, 2,126 people got tested, and 841 were found positive for the virus. The current positivity rate stands at 39.56 percent, our correspondent reports, quoting Shyamal Krishna Mandal, assistant director of Barishal Divisional Health Office.

Divisional Health Director Dr Basudev Kumar Das said that 428 patients have died of Covid-19 in the division so far.

Some 29,752 active patients have been identified in the division so far and 17,964 of them have recovered, the director added.
