17 die at RMCH Covid unit in 24 hours; positivity rate 28.55% in Rajshahi

Seventeen people died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in 24 hours till 8am today.

Of the deceased, eight were Covid-19 positive and the rest died with symptoms, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports quoting RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani.

Twelve of them were from Rajshahi, two from Natore and one each from Chapainawabganj, Naogaon and Kushtia.

During 24 hours, 648 samples were tested at two labs of Rajshahi and 185 of them came positive, Brig Gen Yazdani said.

The current positivity rate in the district is 28.55 percent.

A total of 42 patients were admitted at RMCH's Covid unit during the 24 hours. With them, 399 are now receiving treatment there at present.
