17 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24 hours, positivity rate 4.12%
Seventeen people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,487 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
At least 1,178 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,55,051, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 4.12 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.02 percent.
A total of 28,599 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.
At least 1,086 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,14,962 and the recovery rate at 97.42 percent.
Among the 17 deceased, 10 were men and 7 were women.
Of them, one was between 31-40, one between 41-50, four between 51-60 and six between 61-70, four between 71-80 and and one between 81-90 years old years old, added the release.
