14 patients die at RMCH’s Covid unit in 24 hours
Ten people diagnosed with Covid-19 and four others with symptoms died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in 24 hours till 8am today.
Of the deceased, eight were from Rajshahi, one from Chapainawabganj, one from Natore, three from Pabna and the other was from Chuadanga, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports.
RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani said samples of 188 people were tested in the RT-PCR lab in the hospital in the 24 hours. Of them, 88 people found positive for coronavirus, he added.
Also, samples of 446 people were tested in the lab of Rajshahi Medical College. Of the samples, results of 135 people came positive for Covid-19.
According to the RMCH data, 50 new patients have been admitted to the isolation unit during the time. With them, in total 416 patients are undergoing treatment at the unit.
