117 Covid-19 deaths recorded in a day, positivity rate down to 12.78%

One hundred and seventeen people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours, till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 25,846 and the death rate stands at 1.74 percent.

A total of 27,578 samples were tested across the country and at least 3,525 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 14,86,153 added the release.

The current positivity rate is 12.78 percent while overall positivity rate stands at 16.86 percent. The daily positivity rate was 13.77 percent the previous day.

At least 6,485 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 14,04,370 and the recovery rate stands at 94.50 percent.  

Among the 117 deceased, 56 were men and 61 were women.

Of them, one was between 0-10 years old, one was between 11-20 years old, three between 21-30, nine between 31-40, 16 between 41-50, 19 between 51-60, 38 between 61-70, 16 between 71-80 and 11 between 81-90, and three were within 91-100 years old, added the release.
