11 die at RMCH Covid unit in a day

Eleven people died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till 8am today.

Of the deceased, nine were Covid-19 positive and the rest died with symptoms, RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani confirmed to The Daily Star.

Four among the nine who died of Covid-19 were from Natore, three from Rajshahi, one each from Naogaon and Kushtia.

During the 24 hours, 53 samples were tested at RMCH lab through RT-PCR testing and 18 of them came positive while 350 were tested at Rajshahi Medical College lab and 41 of them were Covid-19 positive, Brig Gen Yazdani said.

The current positivity rate in Rajshahi is 29.52 percent.
