Govt extends suspension on public transports till May 16
The government today extended the ongoing suspension on all types of public transport till May 16 to check spread of Covid-19 in the country.
The Road Transport and Highways Division took the decision hours after the government extended the ongoing closure of most of the public and private offices in the country till May 16, Abu Naser, deputy chief information officer of the ministry, said in a press release.
However, all goods-laden vehicles and those carrying emergency services will remain out of purview of the suspension, according to the release.
No goods-laden vehicle would be allowed to carry passengers, it added.
The suspension on public transports came into effect on March 26.
