Game plan for upcoming series

Game plan for upcoming series

It seems that our Tigers played this entire year without any particular game plan. Therefore, I would like to make some suggestions.

1.    We need openers who can see off the new ball as well as the new pitch. For this role, Mushfiq and Mominul would be ideal players.

2.    Every bowler must communicate with his captain and vice-versa about proper field positions. If a particular position is leaking runs, that area must be sealed off immediately.

3.    If a bowler gets tired, he must tell the captain to replace him with a fresh bowler.

4.    Many balls drift to the leg side and this makes it easy for the batsman to hit the ball for runs. Since all the fielders are standing on the off-side, it becomes difficult to stop the flow of runs. Placing a leg slip in this case may prevent runs from leaking.

5.    Adequate number of slips must be used. The field set-up must always be attacking.

6.    It should be the entire team's decision whether to bat or bowl first if the team wins the toss. This decision must be taken in advance.

7.    During the West-Indies tour, it was seen that their players took 18 balls just to get off the mark. The Tigers should learn from this as well.

8.    Players must learn to concentrate while fielding so that easy catches are not dropped.
