A low-pressure system may form over the South Bay of Bengal between May 8 and 10, said a meteorologist.
Abul Kalam Mallick, meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), also told The Daily Star that it was too early to say whether this low pressure will turn into a cyclone.
Cyclones commonly occur in May in Bangladesh, he added.
