Fuel prices in top fossil fuel producing countries

The government hiked fuel prices across the country from August 6, the biggest one in the history of the country.

Here's a look at fuel prices (per litre) of the top seven fossil fuel producing countries. The oil prices mentioned have been updated as of August 1, 2022, according to www.globalpetrolprices.com.

BANGLADESH*

At retail level, per litre price of octane is Tk 135 (US$ 1.35) and diesel Tk 114 (US$ 1.14).

USA

In the United States, octane is Tk 118 (US$ 1.18), and diesel Tk 135 (US$ 1.35).

RUSSIA

In Russia, octane is Tk 82 (US$ 0.82), and diesel Tk 84 (US$ 0.845).

IRAN

In Iran, octane is Tk 5.3 (US$ 0.053), and diesel Tk 1.1 (US$ 0.011).

CANADA

In Canada, octane is Tk 155.9 (US$ 1.559), and diesel Tk 147.8 (US$ 1.478).

QATAR

In Qatar, octane is Tk 57.70 (US$ 0.577), and diesel Tk 56 (US$ 0.563).

CHINA

In China, octane is Tk 135 (US$ 1.354), and diesel Tk 121.5 (US$ 1.215).

SAUDI ARABIA

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, octane is Tk 62 (US$ 0.62) and diesel Tk 16.80 (US$ 0.168).
