Jaya Ahsan plays trauma-haunted doctor in upcoming film ‘OCD’
Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan has left a strong impression with the newly released trailer of the Kolkata psychological thriller “OCD”, hinting at another promising year for the actor after a successful run across both Dhaka and Kolkata cinemas last year.
The 1-minute-and-48-second trailer was unveiled yesterday, with Ahsan sharing it on social media alongside the caption, “When the obsession with cleanliness turns into a blueprint for perfect revenge.” The film, directed by Soukarya Ghosal, explores how obsessive compulsive disorder—commonly known as OCD—can deeply affect an individual’s psyche, especially when rooted in unresolved childhood trauma.

“OCD” centres on the long-term psychological impact of child abuse and is narrated from the perspective of a survivor. Ahsan plays Shweta, a doctor haunted by shadows from her past. The trauma she carries manifests in a relentless obsession with cleanliness, while the “dark clouds” of her memories continue to follow her. When a patient inadvertently uncovers Shweta’s past, the consequences prove devastating.
The film charts Shweta’s growing contempt for those around her, particularly anyone who opposes or threatens her sense of control. Her ultimate fate unfolds in the psychological thriller, which promises an intense exploration of trauma, obsession and morality.
Set to release on February 6, “OCD” will also mark the big-screen debut of child actor Arshiya Mukhopadhyay, widely known for her role as Bhutu on television. The cast includes Kaushik Sen, Anasuya Majumdar and Koneenica Banerjee in pivotal roles.
