The younger one (my little boy) was at his drawing class nearby, and the elder one (my older son) was sitting for an exam at school. I was sitting on the floor when suddenly it felt as though everything around me was collapsing. A strong upward jolt—the glass fittings and objects around me were rattling loudly. At one point I felt I might never see my children again. I ran down six flights of stairs and dashed towards the younger one's school. Alhamdulillah, they are all safe."
Jamil Hossain wrote, "Such a massive earthquake! Allah, have mercy." Actress Samanta Parvez wrote, "Yet people still do not fear Allah, nor do they heed His warnings. The epicentre of the quake was in Ghorashal, Narsingdi—my area."

Sharing his experience, popular actor Faruque Ahmed said, "I live on the 5th floor of a 14-storey building. I had just finished breakfast when suddenly everything started shaking violently. The entire building was swaying. Through the window I saw the building next to ours rocking like a swing. People were screaming. We stood under a doorway beam. It felt as though the whole building was about to collapse. I've felt earthquakes many times in my life—but never one this strong. Stay safe, everyone."
Actress Barsha wrote, "Alhamdulillah, Allah's mercy saved us. Another 5–6 seconds and who knows what might have happened! One day, on some Friday like this, a tremor like this will destroy everything. In Surah Zalzalah, Allah has described the horror of that day. Those who felt the quake from tall buildings felt it very clearly. That day is near—it will certainly come. Perhaps on some Friday just like this one."
