Bengali actress Shraboni Bonik passes away

Popular Indian Bengali cinema and television serial actress Shraboni Bonik has died. She breathed her last on Monday morning, December 29 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Rajarhat, Kolkata.

According to multiple Indian media outlets, the actress had been suffering from lung adenocarcinoma, a form of lung cancer with metastasis, for an extended period. Her health had been deteriorating over the past several weeks while she was receiving hospital treatment. Shraboni passed away at 9 am on Monday morning.

Director Babu Bonik shared, "We have been friends for many years. We are shocked by Shraboni's death. She suffered greatly in her final days. She had been away from work for a long time. I cannot believe that Shraboni is no more. I have been at the hospital since morning. Her last rites will be performed at Nimtala crematorium this afternoon."

Shraboni Bonik's performances in television serials such as "Lalkuthi", "Ranga Bou", "Godhuli Alap", and "Sohag Chand" captured everyone's attention. Her work on the big screen was also well-received, with audiences appreciating her performances in films like "Alo" and "Chander Bari". "Sohag Chand" was her last television serial.
