Being targeted in various ways: Mehazabien

Arts & Entertainment Desk

In recent times, Mehazabien Chowdhury has been making headlines more often surrounded with controversies. From the case filed against the actress and her brother, to several other subjects. However, the actress decided not to remain silent in any of these, and mentioned it as being targeted.

Mehazabien has taken to social media to address renewed attempts to defame her. She revealed that after being targeted in a false legal case, which was later dismissed by the court, clearing her name, she is now facing further harassment as she focuses on her professional work.

She also highlighted the challenges posed by AI-generated images and videos, which have increasingly put artistes, especially females in uncomfortable situations. "Women are often easy targets these days, and I don’t know who is behind this," she wrote. "I have noticed for some time that I am being targeted in various ways. I just want to focus on my work and have discussions centered on my art. I hope you all will stand by me."

Once one of the busiest actresses on the small screen, Mehazabien has become selective about her crafts in recent times, particularly after her silver screen debut in “Priyo Maloti”, directed by Shankha Dasgupta. Her second film “Saba” directed by Maksud Hossain was also released last year.
