Nearly 50 years later, a pristinely restored “Manthan” has appeared for a red-carpet world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 18), alongside classics from Jean-Luc Godard, Akira Kurosawa, and Wim Wenders.

Director Imtiaz Ali has spoken about how he treats male characters in his films differently from female characters. Speaking with Times of India, Imtiaz said that those male characters are not directly derived from his life experiences. He added that he does credit "greater intelligence and resilience to women".

The recently aired two-part documentary, "Spacey Unmasked", now available on Max, sheds light on these allegations with previously unheard testimonies, including one claiming that the 64-year-old Oscar-winning actor allegedly groped a fellow "House of Cards" actor on set.
