After a prolonged delay, “Flashback”, starring Shobnom Bubly, is finally heading for release, nearly two years after completing production.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres in West Bengal in May, with plans also underway for a Bangladesh release. The project marks Bubly’s debut in the Tollywood film industry.

Directed by Rashed Raha, the thriller wrapped filming in 2024 but remained stalled due to various complications. The director said the release is being planned following the West Bengal assembly election results, with an official date expected to be announced soon.

The film also features Kaushik Ganguly and Saurav Das in key roles. The screenplay has been written by Khairul Basar Nirjhor.

In "Flashback", Bubly plays a filmmaker named Shweta, while Ganguly portrays Anjan and Das appears as DK. The story follows three individuals from different walks of life whose paths intersect in a hill town, leading to a dramatic turn in events.

Meanwhile, Bubly’s other film "Sardar Barir Khela" is set for release in Bangladesh on May 8. Directed by Rakhal Sabuj, the film centres on the traditional sport of stick fighting and stars Ziaul Roshan alongside Bubly.

The actor’s absence from promotional activities for the film has sparked speculation online, though she has not commented publicly on the matter.
