An exhibition titled “The Work of Creation 2”, featuring the works of eminent Bangladeshi artist based in Japan, Kazi Ghiyasuddin, was inaugurated at Bengal Shilpalaya on October 28.

“Karukothon”, a solo exhibition of artist Namira Farzana is currently underway at the Zainul Gallery in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka. The exhibition was inaugurated by Professor Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Dhaka.

Embroidery is one of the oldest art forms in the history of mankind. The most well-known embroidery of Bangladesh is Nakshi Kantha, done with the threads drawn from saree borders. Renowned artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury has passed away. He breathed his last in a private hospital in the country’s capital, at 2:40 pm today. The news of his death was confirmed  by the artist’s son, Surajit Chowdhury.
