The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is spearheading a unique 19-day Jatra festival that spans 42 districts, engaging the general public in a journey of development and celebrating art. The grand cultural festival, titled "Gono Jagoron Jatrapala Utsav 2023", kicked off yesterday (November 2) with an inaugural ceremony at 6 pm at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Bengal Shilpalay inaugurated "Quarantine", a solo art exhibition by Mahbubur Rahman, on October 13. The entire gallery has been internally reconfigured to captivate visitors. It features partitions that divide the space for different types of art.

Artists often push the boundaries of traditional techniques to convey their emotions, and in the process, they develop new forms or explore unconventional methods to establish a distinct style for themselves. Quite similarly, over the years, artist Rezaul Hoque has developed a novel approach to creating artwork through what he calls a “burning process”.

Raka, along with her team, took this initiative to inspire young talents, and as a growing organisation, they have also received warm reception from celebrities as well. Artistes like, FS Nayeem, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Aisha Khan and Russell Rahman also posted videos on the event, and invited people to come and experience the event.

“Peace Film Festival 2023” has been organised to encourage an integrated and peaceful Bangladesh with the participation of creative young filmmakers. This two-day-long festival will be held on October 28 and 29 at the Bangladesh Film Archive in the Agargaon area.

In an interview with the Daily Star, eminent cultural icon and convener of the Festival Committee, Ghulam Kuddus, mentioned, "Despite severe weather conditions, traffic congestion, and other issues, we received a positive response from the audience. Although our audience numbers were lower this year, those who attended thoroughly enjoyed the performances."
