Chitrangada: A story of women’s individuality
Rabindranath’s Chitrangada has mostly been adapted in dance-drama form, but theater troupe Swapnadal was adamant on narrating the mythological princess of the Kingdom of Manipur into a modern day ‘jatrabala’ styled drama for the audiences. Their unique adaptation of ‘Chitrangada’ caught the eyes of Asia’s largest theatre festival, as they are all set to perform at 25th edition of Bharat Rang Mahotsav, Delhi on February.

Roger Gwynn: The British photographer who fell in love with Bangladesh
Roger Gwynn immortalized some of the most awe-inspiring images of the Birmingham protest against Pakistani brutality and genocide in Bangladesh in 1971. Additionally, he had the opportunity to meet the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in 1972 at the Claridges Hotel in London. He again came back to Bangladesh after the Independence to help reform the country after the disastrous Cyclone in 1974.

Dhaka Theatre set to stage ‘Medea’ again tomorrow
The Greek classical play "Medea" was staged yesterday evening by Dhaka Theatre at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's Studio Theatre Auditorium in the capital’s Segun Bagicha Road. Directed by Humayun Kabir Himu, this production marks the 51st theatrical endeavour by Dhaka Theatre – a prominent theatrical organisation in Bangladesh. Professor Abdus Selim provided the Bengali translation for it, adapting from George Theodoridis' English translation of the play.
