‘Lux Channel i Superstar’ launches with ‘missing trophy’ campaign
Organisers of “Lux Channel i Superstar” have launched this year’s edition with a promotional video built around a staged “missing trophy” narrative ahead of the gala.
The PR video features Mosharraf Karim in his popular role as OC Harun from “Mohanagar”, alongside Arifin Shuvoo, portraying a fictional investigation into the disappearance of the show’s trophy.
According to a statement released by the organisers, the Swarovski crystal-studded trophy—introduced as this year’s winning symbol—“was kept in a secure location” but “could no longer be found” during a routine check.
“Following this, Lux Bangladesh confirmed that OC Harun and Arefin Shuvo have taken charge and begun investigating the matter. Efforts are now underway to recover the trophy before the Gala,” the statement said.
It added, “Now, the biggest question remains: will the trophy make it back in time?”
The campaign directs viewers to tune in to Channel i at 7:30pm on April 3, when the outcome will be revealed during the gala.
“Lux Channel i Superstar”, launched in 2005, is a reality show jointly organised by Channel i and Unilever Bangladesh Limited. The winner is crowned the Face of Lux Bangladesh and receives cash prizes.
