Minar keeps his word as ‘Keu Kotha Rakheni’ crosses 100 million
Minar Rahman’s song “Keu Kotha Rakheni”, which was released six years ago on YouTube, has crossed 100 million views recently.
Surpassing such a milestone, the singer told The Daily Star, “I don't judge any content or any music by counting its views. For example, someone is learning an instrument for years, and someday that person releases musical content with his instrument, and that doesn't get many views; only because of that, we cannot judge or question the merit of that certain content or the calibre of that person.”
He further pointed out that when he made the Song “Keu Kotha Rakheni”, it was out of a wider perception of life, which is a universal truth. “At the end of the day, every human being is lonely. And thinking about that, our life is nothing, just some stories. I kept these thoughts in mind when I wrote this song.”
In the tune and composition, the chords he made for the song, and in the structure, he shared that he maintained a certain melancholy that brings on nostalgia. “People loved the song, and they write their own stories in the comment section because I believe the philosophy of this composition is relatable to everyone. I released ‘Keu Kotha Rakheni’ from my Official YouTube channel, ‘Minar Rahman’, 6 years ago, on January 13, 2020. My fans are celebrating the 100 million (10 Crore) views of this song,” he said.
Expressing his joy, he asserted, “My fans, followers, listeners, and admirers of my music have taken the song to the 100 million views club. I love all my fan followers, and I am always grateful to Almighty Allah. I would like to dedicate these 100 million views to all of them. Because of them, I am what I am today.”
He also shared that Spotify Bangladesh has announced his name amongst seven musicians in their list of certified icons of Bangla Music. The list includes the names as such—Runa Laila, Sabina Yasmin, Warfaze, Habib Wahid, Tahsan Khan, and Pritom Hasan.
