‘Life does not end here’: Kanak Chapa on not securing reserved seat
Singer Kanak Chapa has shared a measured response after failing to secure a party nomination from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the reserved seats for women, reiterating her desire to contribute to the country beyond her music career.
In a Facebook post today (April 20), the artiste said she accepted the outcome with faith. “In any situation in life, I say Alhamdulillah. Everything is Allah’s decision,” she wrote, referring to her attempt to participate directly in the national elections.
She added that she had also sought an opportunity to serve through a reserved seat for women, after failing to secure a nomination in the national elections in February.
“Still, I say Alhamdulillah. Surely, Allah has kept something good in this. Life does not end here,” she wrote.
Kanak Chapa expressed gratitude to her supporters, particularly those from rural areas, who encouraged her political aspirations. She described herself as a simple person and said she remains committed to the country and its people. “Beyond songs, there is still much left for me to give,” she wrote.
She further noted that even if she is unable to serve in a formal capacity, her commitment to the nation remains unchanged.
