Kona releases new song as US concert tour continues

Popular singer Dilshad Nahar Kona is currently touring the United States, performing a series of concerts across the country, while her new song, “Bhijiye Diyo Na”, has been released in Bangladesh.

Kona began her US tour on July 26 in Michigan. During the more than two-month tour, she is scheduled to perform at 19 concerts in cities across the country.

Released on Friday (July 31) via the Music Art Station YouTube channel, “Bhijiye Diyo Na” is the first music video from the album “Badla Smriti”.

The album features six songs inspired by the monsoon season and includes vocals by Kona, Jhilik, Shan Saik and Pintu Ghosh. All the lyrics were written by Ahsan Imam, who also directed the music videos, while Shan Saik composed and arranged the music.

Speaking about the project, lyricist and director Ahsan Imam said the album draws inspiration from Bangladesh’s monsoon and natural beauty.

“Our monsoon and landscape are like an artist’s canvas. Through ‘Badla Smriti’, we have tried to capture that beauty by portraying the country’s breathtaking rainy season, people’s emotions, memories, relationships and nature through lyrics, music and visuals,” he said.

Composer Shan Saik said the team wanted to celebrate the rainy season through music.

“Since it is the monsoon, we decided to create an album dedicated to rain. The lyrics of all six songs are beautiful, and we tried our best to complement them with fitting compositions and arrangements. We hope listeners will enjoy the album,” he said.

Kona is scheduled to perform in Los Angeles today before continuing the tour with concerts in Oklahoma City (August 8), Dallas (August 14), Houston (August 21), Chicago (August 28), Boston (August 29), Orlando (September 5), Los Angeles (September 6), Washington, DC (September 12), Miami (September 19), Atlanta (September 20), Michigan (September 26) and New York (October 3).
