An evening of music, dance and recitation featuring selected monsoon songs by Rabindranath Tagore will be held at Chhayanaut Sanskriti Bhavan auditorium today (August 8) at 7 pm.

Titled “Borshamukhor Shondha”, the programme will be organised by Bhorer Aloy, the music organisation founded by the late Rabindra sangeet exponent Sadi Mohammad.

The programme will feature artistes from Bhorer Aloy, along with music organisation Uttarayan, led by artiste and teacher Lily Islam, and dance organisation Nrityanchal, led by artistes Shibli Mohammad and Shamim Ara Nipa.

The organisers said the event would combine Rabindra Sangeet, dance and recitation.

Sadi Mohammad founded Bhorer Aloy with the aim of nurturing music and encouraging young people to develop an interest in the art. He also established Gane Gane Golpo to introduce children and young people to music.

The programme will offer audiences an evening of music, dance and recitation while celebrating the musical legacy of Sadi Mohammad.
