Train generator operator rapes girl with disabilities on moving train in Moulvibazar

A train generator operator allegedly raped a 21-year-old girl with physical disabilities on a moving train in Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar last night.

The victim filed a rape case with Srimangal Railway Police Station today, said Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Police have arrested Zahid Ahmed Jabed (25), an assistant generator operator of the train, said the OC.

He is a resident of Jangalbari village in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj, our Moulvibazar correspondent reports, quoting the police official. 

OC Alamgir Hossain, quoting the case statement, said Zahid raped the girl in a dark compartment when she was going to the toilet.

When the train reached Srimangal Railway Station, the girl got down on the platform and started shouting.

The passengers caught Zahid and handed him over to the Railway Police Station while he was trying to flee, added the OC.
