Three arrested for raping woman at knifepoint in Ctg: police
Police today arrested three persons from Chattogram's Saltgola area for allegedly gang-raping a 30-year-old garment worker at knifepoint in the city's Customs area last night.
The accused rapists are Md Monir and Md Jamal. Name of the other accused could not be known immediately, reports our Chattogram correspondent.
"Police arrested them [the accused] after receiving a complaint from the victim through the National Emergency Number 999 around 12:30am today," said Milon Mahmud, deputy commissioner (Port) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP).
The suspects allegedly tied the victim's husband in a tin-shed room and raped her beside the foot-over bridge at the Customs intersection area between 9:30pm and 11:30pm last night, police sources said quoting the victim.
A case is already in process to be filed against the accused, added our correspondent.
The victim was sent to the One-stop Crisis Centre of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for medical tests, added the DC.
