‘Robbers’ kill man in Khulna

A man was stabbed to death allegedly by robbers in Khulna's Terokhada upazila early today.

The deceased was identified as Jamal Sheikh, a tailor and son of Chhattar Sheikh of Arfangashia village, reports our local correspondent quoting Md Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of Terokhada Police Station.

A gang of robbers attacked the house of Kazi Abdullah in Arfangashia around 3am, the OC said quoting locals.

Jamal went to the house owner's rescue after getting a phone call for help from Kazi Abdullah's wife and was stabbed by the robbers, the OC said adding that the criminals managed to escape after locals came to help.

Locals rushed Jamal to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to injuries, OC Md Golam Mostafa also said.

Police were trying to arrest the culprits.
