Recovery of 18 lakh Yaba pills: 4 placed on 4-day remand

A Cox's Bazar court today placed four persons on a four-day remand each in connection with a case filed over the recovery of 18 lakh Yaba pills and Tk 70 lakh.

Judge Jerin Sultana of Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court-4 passed the order in presence of the accused after a hearing today.

The accused are Jahirul Islam, Nurul Alam alias Prakash Babu, Abul Kalam and Sheikh Abdullah, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting Sheikh Mohammad Ali, investigation officer and also the officer-in-charge of Cox's Bazar DB police.

The IO said the remand was granted after he produced the accused before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

Few days back, police recovered 18 lakh yaba pills and Tk 70 lakh from a fishing boat and a house. Police made the raids later.

A case was filed with Cox's Bazar police station in this connection.
