Man killed in ‘gunfight’ between 2 groups of Rohingyas at Cox’s Bazar refugee camp

A Rohingya man was killed in an alleged gunfight between two groups of Rohingya at a refugee camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar early today.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Jabed (20), son Mohammad Islam of Tanjimarakhola camp under Palongkhali union in Ukhiya, said a police official.

Shihab Kaiser Khan, commanding fficer of Armed Police Battalion (APBn)-8 said the gunfight took place between two groups of Rohingyas in block 8 of Tanjimarakhola camp around 3:00am.

On information, police recovered the body of the Rohingya man and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports, quoting commanding officer.

He further said police are trying to arrest the people involved in the incident.
