Man arrested for raping housewife at gunpoint in Jashore

A man in Jashore Sadar upazila was arrested for allegedly raping a housewife at gunpoint last night, said police.

The accused rapist Sabdar Hossain was arrested after the victim filed a case against him at the Jashore Kotwali Police Station, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Sabdar, who lives nearby, broke into the victim's house in absence of her husband and raped her at gunpoint, the OC said quoting the victim.

After her husband came to know about the incident, he took her to the police station to file the case.

Sabdar had been harassing her in various ways, including making advances, the OC added, quoting the victim.
