Madrasa student found dead 3 days after going missing in Pabna
A madrasa student was found dead today in Pabna Sadar upazila, three days after going missing.
The victim, Md Billal Hossain, 12, son of Afzal Meer of Shreekole village and a second-grader of a local madrasa, used to pull his father's rickshaw-van alongside studies.
Billal went missing after Bakul Hossain, a resident of the village, hired his rickshaw-van from Shreekole Bazar in the afternoon of February 9, Md Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station, said quoting family members of the victim.
Later, police picked up Bakul on Friday for interrogation after victim's father filed a general diary with the police station.
As per the information learned from the detainee, the law enforcers recovered the body from an embankment at Varara village this afternoon, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting the OC.
The victim might have been strangled to death for snatching his rickshaw-van, the OC said adding, the body was sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
