‘Drug peddlers, mugger’ among 3 held during Rab drives in Feni

Two alleged drug peddlers and an alleged mugger were arrested during three separate drives conducted by Rapid Action Battalion in Feni.

Rab-7 personnel of Feni camp carried out the drives in different areas of the district last night, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Junayed Jahedi, also acting commander of the camp.

The arrestees were identified as, Md Jahidul Islam Haider (23), Md Mansur Alam (37), and Md Arifur Rahman (24).

Jahidul was held by Rab personnel while allegedly mugging commuters on Academy Road in Feni last night. Two foldable knives were seized from him, the Rab official said.

Mansur was held from Raoshan Fakir's Mazar area in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni with 30 bottles of foreign whiskey.

Arifur was held from Lalpool area of Feni Sadar upazila with 870 yaba pills. 

They were later handed over to police and three separate cases were filed with Feni and Chhagalnaiya police stations against them, the Rab official added.
