Case filed over 3 men beating, raping woman in Jashore

A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three people in Jashore Sadar upazila on Thursday night. 

One Manik Kundu took the 25-year-old woman to Bahadurpur village after promising to give her a job on Thursday afternoon, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting the case statement.

Manik, hailing from Fultala of Khulna, along with two other people beat the woman after taking her to a field there in the evening and raped her, Moniruzaman, officer-in-charge of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, quoted the case statement.

Later, locals rescued the woman and admitted her to Jashore General Hospital yesterday morning.

Azizul Hakim, a doctor of the hospital, said the woman was examined and samples have been collected. She was being treated at the hospital for bleeding, he added.

The OC said a case has been filed with the police station in connection with the incident.

Law enforcers were trying to arrest the accused, he added.
