Boy murdered in broad daylight in Savar

Unidentified criminals hacked an adolescent boy to death in broad daylight at Bank Colony area in Savar today.

The deceased was identified as Rohanur Rahman Rohan (16), son of Abdus Sobhan of Kornopara area, reports our Savar correspondent quoting AFM Sayed, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.

Quoting the victim's cousin Ridwan, OC Sayed said the incident happened around 7:30pm in front of a restaurant when Rohan and his two friends went there to eat.

All of a sudden, a gang -- comprising 40 to 50 teenagers -- attacked them, the OC said, adding that the attackers first beat him up with sticks and later stabbed him and fled away.

Locals rescued Rohan and sent him to Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

During primary investigation, police came to know two youths' involvement with the murder, the OC added.

Efforts are on to arrest the attackers involved in the murder, he informed.
