Attack on Hindu homes in Sunamganj: 8 more arrested

Police Bureau of Investigation arrested a local UP member and seven other people in different drives for their connection with attacking, vandalising and looting Hindu houses in Noagaon village of Sunamganj's Shalla upazila on March 17.

Shahidul Islam Shwadhin, Derai upazila's Sharmangal Union Parishad member was arrested from Kulaura upazila early today, reports our local correspondent quoting Nazmul Huq, officer-in-charge of Shalla Police Station.

Seven other accused in the cases were arrested during drives in different areas last night, the OC added.

Earlier, 22 people were arrested and sent to prison in this connection.
