Star Digital Report

Rab arrested two accused in a case filed following the deadly fire at a chemical storage in old Dhaka's Armanitola that left five people dead on Friday.

Several Rab teams carried out drives in Dhaka and Bogura and made the arrest, said Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Rab's Legal and Media wing director.

The arrestees are: Mostafizur Rahman and Mohammad Mostafa, he added.

Shaheen Fakir, officer-in-charge of Bongshal Police Station, said they are yet to know about the arrest.

After hearing the names from this correspondent, the OC said both are owners of the chemical storage where the fire originated.

The fire broke out at a chemical storage facility on the ground floor of the six-storey Musa Mansion early Friday, leaving five people dead and at least 23 wounded.

Rab will hold a press briefing later in the day about the arrest.
