ACC detains audit official taking bribe in Khulna

The Anti-Corruption Commission today detained an official of the Audit office taking bribe from a doctor in Khulna.

The arrestee, Md Alamgir Hossain, was detained from Dumuria area around 12:30pm, our Khulna correspondent reports quoting Md Nazmul Hasan, deputy director of ACC Khulna District Office.

Alamgir demanded bribe from Dumuria Community Medical Officer Dr Ranjit Kumar Nandi as he wanted to withdraw money from his DG Fund.

Later Dr Nandi informed ACC about it, Nazmul told The Daily Star.

"Today, while taking the bribe, Alamgir Hossain was detained. Preparations are underway to file a case against him. He will be produced before a court today," added the ACC official.
