2 arrested in connection with gang-rape of schoolgirl in Narail

Two people were arrested in connection with a case filed over the gang-rape of a schoolgirl in Narail's Kalia upazila.

The arrestees-- a seventeen-year-old boy and Bappi Sikder (19) --- were produced before a district court today, said Sheikh Koni Mia, officer-in-charge of Kalia Police Station.

Police arrested the duo from their house after the victim's father filed a rape case with Kalia Police Station against five people last night, said the OC.

Quoting the case statement, OC Koni Mia said the seventeen-year-old boy and his accomplices, including Bappi, gang-raped the ninth-grade student yesterday evening.

Family members rescued the victim from the spot and informed police.

Later, law enforcers raided the house of the accused at night and arrested the two boys, the OC added.
