Bank official dies with coronavirus symptoms in Patuakhali

An official of Rupali Bank died with Covid-19 like symptoms at his home in Patuakhali early today.

Abu Hanif Akanda (55) was a senior principal officer at Newtown branch, DC Court Bhaban in Patuakhali, our local correspondent reports.

He breathed his last around 5:00am at his house in Hetalia Badhghat in the district town, said Md Kamruzzaman Jewel, the bank's branch manager.

Akanda was suffering from fever and breathing problems for several days and receiving treatment from doctors from home, Kamruzzaman added.

He visited a hospital to give samples for Covid-19 testing but could not do so on June 7, he said.

The patient experienced severe breathing difficulty early today and died around 5:00am, said Kamruzzaman, quoting his family members.                                                                                  

After death, his sample has been collected for coronavirus test.
